Mabel Jimenez

I'm a freelance photographer based in San Francisco, CA. I studied Journalism at San Francisco State University, specializing in photojournalism.

For seven years (2011-2018) I served as the Photography Editor at El Tecolote, a free bilingual community newspaper based in San Francisco's Mission District.

In 2013 I created "Latino Life", a photography exhibit highlighting the best work from El Tecolote's volunteer photographers. Because of an overwhelmingly positive response from the community, I've continued organizing and curating the event, now in its fifth year. It is the only ongoing photography event in the San Francisco Bay Area dedicated to the Latino experience.

My style is journalistic documentary and I'm available to shoot portraits, events, food/products, journalistic assignments, nature/landscape, and more.
